Discoveries....
Joe Van Moyland is Thomas Tallis on "The Tudors"
He is also the awkward brother in season 4, episode 1 of "Peep Show" (which I saw on the plane a few days ago).
He is also in Brothers of the Head, though not for long, I don't think.
He is ALSO Joe Lean. Of Joe Lean and The Jing Jang Jong, which is a band I happen to like.

OH! But yeah. In other news... I'm at York.
All is well.
Wooooo.

I might write in my blog tonight to chronicle my trip here and all. Maybe.

DAVID TENNANT AS CASANOVA = BEST THING EVER.

Oh, and also? I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I watched the last episode of Torchwood series 1 while I was sick and... OMG. First half I squeed so much. I squirmed. I freaked out. I cried. Second half I got really confused (they're not NEARLY as good about you know... explaining things as they are on Doctor Who) but it was good anyway. Jaaaaaaaaaaaack!!
I rant about stuff involving kissing from that episode. )

I MUST see Blackpool. David Tennant + Bryan Dick interacting = Sarah's brain melting.

SPEAKING OF SARAH'S BRAIN MELTING.
I just looked it up on YouTube and IT'S A FUCKING MUSICAL. Or something. DAVID TENNANT (AND BRYAN DICK) DANCING AND SINGING ALONG TO SONGS as part of the plot WHAT THE FUCK. This so merits all those capslock.
I mean, just look at this!

You can see Bryan in the background, he's the smallish one with the sweet leather jacket. DANCING. BRYAN AND DAVID DANCING TO THE SMITHS.

AND THIS. LOOK AT THIS. LOOK AT IT.

Yeah, um. Blackppol might tie with Casanova on the list of best things EVER. I have got to find a way to see this. It appears to only be out on DVD in the UK? (EDIT - I found a way. That's my tomorrow down the drain.)

I want to see Sold, too! Very baddly!! (Preview Here. Bryan Dick is... the cutest thing ever. I've only watched this preview about a million times. I reaaaaally hope this show is still on when I get to the UK.)

This is the most I have fangirled in a long, long time. Sorry, f-list. It just needed to happen.

My roommate's friends must think I am psycho. I am closed in my room screaming in excitement and laughing reaaaaaally hard out of disbelief and happiness.

"If the clicking gets faster, then you're dead"
Rufus Wainwright and Patrick Wolf in one place, you say? Sarah exploding from the very idea of it, you say?

I say yes!
Patrick has been asked to contribute a new plague to the Plague Songs released last year... and there is going to be a performance of the songs NEXT WEEK in London. The 28th. OMG.
The info.

Patrick is also going into the studio with Angelo Badalamenti... which is awesome, because Badalamenti composes beautiful music.

Patrick is EVERYWHERE right now. Composing scores, performing on other people's score, making plagues... (it's called "Plague of Apathy (Count of Casualty)," by the way. Hooray for non-Biblical plagues and wildly Wolfian titles!)
I am pleased. And wish I could be there.

P.S. Video of Patrick talking and performing a new song. )
P.P.S. I've been making Brothers of the Head macros again )

I slept until 1pm today. I love not having class on Mondays.

"Indeed, yes, it is a bit creepy"
Just finished reading Brothers of the Head. It was a fine way to spend a Friday night. Dinner, bumming around, hot chocolate, a novel.
[info]thisroyalcity, you rock my life so hard.

Does it strike anyone else as kind of odd that it's the first evening of my college's Fall Break and I have no idea if my roommate has gone home or is still on campus?
Hm... *considers*

The mango-orange juice I just drank has given me a minor stomach ache, but it was So. Freaking. Good.

I think I am going to go to bed now. This is early-ish for me. But I am falling asleep.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
[info]thisroyalcity, you will understand the excitement of this:
There is a guy in my French Cinema class who looks like Paul Day. As in, A LOT LIKE HIM. It is driving me mad. Mad, I say!

He's a bit pretentious/mildly irritating-amusing, but ahhhh his hair! And face! And how well-dressed he is! And this sort of bored-blank expression that somehow shows off the similarities! And how he stands on the front stairs of the building smoking one last cigarette before class, with his nice clothes (collared shirts ftw! though I'm not sure Paul would ever wear a sweater vest. Sweater vest? Sweater vest! I approve) and his ahhhhhhhhhhh looks-just like Paul Day-ness.

It's slightly distracting! As is the presence of one of the prettiest people (male or female) in the same class. He was sitting right across from me, being all... pretty. Mmmm, pretty.

I just want to sit in my room and watch the rain and *cough cough* write about Paul and *cough cough*... cough. Because I am still a little congested in my chest region and keep having coughing fits.

Which reminds me: It's raining! For the first time since I got here over two weeks ago! Everything looks so gray and wet and beautiful. The plants will be so happy, and I am too. I like Wesleyan in the fall rains, it feels more like the semester now.

EDIT: *points at icon* Paul Day!
He looks slightly amused / bemused about my rant.

Nelson's Blood
I just watched "Brothers of the Head." It is a movie... I do not know how well-known it is. I know about it, but I know about a lot of things.
Anyway. I am sort of in shock; a movie has not pulled me in that way in a long time; maybe since "Strayed."
Thoughts; Definite Spoilers )

Um... That was a long rant. But the thing got me by the metaphorical balls.
It was fucking amazing. And the music was good, too.
I need to get my hands on the novel... but this seems largely impossible. Damn.

And now I have a big rush, AND I am hungry, and I have work in the morning.
(I had the day off today! Joy! I spent it sleeping, being lazy, getting my car cleaned, depositing my first paycheck of the summer, sitting in my local coffee shop for four hours, writing, making up with my dad if it could be called that, and watching the movie.)

The new commercial for sour skittles is really disturbing and makes me never want to drink milk again.

PS: Brothers of the Head Trailer )
